One Direction's Liam Payne catches shark during fishing trip

Pop sensations ONE DIRECTION received a nasty shock during a fishing trip in California recently after singer LIAM PAYNE reeled in a shark.

The British boyband took time out from its gruelling tour to enjoy a spot of fishing during a seafaring trip in San Diego.

However, the amateur fishers were shocked when band member Payne caught the the potential man-eating creature - only to breathe a sigh of relief when they discovered it was just a baby tiger shark.

Payne tells Britain's The Sun, "We went fishing in San Diego. It was only my second time ever fishing and we had such great fun. We went fishing for half an hour and there was nothing at all. Then I pulled out a baby tiger shark.”
