NICK JONAS has staged an acoustic gig outside a New York theater to thank fans for supporting his stint in the Broadway musical HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING.

The pop star treated crowds to a mini-concert outside the stage door of the Al Hirschfeld Theater on Saturday (19May12), a day before taking his final bow in the lead role of J. Pierrepont Finch.

Jonas joined the How To Succeed cast in January (12) and was due to stay until July (12) but producers announced earlier this month (May12) the show would close early due to sluggish box office sales.

Before the curtain fell for the final time on Sunday (20May12), the cast was given a standing ovation and Jonas took the mic to toast his colleagues.

He told the audience, "This is our last show tonight. It's been an amazing run. This is a great show, and this is a great group of people. I'm truly humbled to be on this stage every night with these amazing people... who really care so deeply about their work and about each other.

"It's a joy to come into work every day. It's the kind of experience you never forget. This is my return to Broadway as a man now... and I could not have done what I did onstage every night without these amazing people up here with me."

Jonas made his Broadway debut in the musical revival Annie Get Your Gun in 2001.
