Ne-Yo delays album release

R&B star NE-YO has postponed the release of his new album to allow him extra time to perfect the project.

The So Sick hitmaker was due to unveil R.E.D. in September (12), but he has delayed the disc and is hoping to reschedule it for the end of the year (12).

Ne-Yo broke the news to fans on Friday (03Aug12) while performing in New York's Central Park as part of breakfast show Good Morning America's summer concert series, telling the crowd, "R.E.D. is coming very, very soon... I had to push it back just a lil' bit. The original release date is no longer the release date... I just gotta make sure that it's right for y'all... Just know you'll have it before next year, before the top of the year, it will be in stores."

R.E.D., which stands for Realizing Every Dream, is the follow up to 2010's Libra Scale.
