Mary J. Blige 'brainstorming' fashion line

R&B star MARY J. BLIGE is stepping into the world of fashion - she is "brainstorming" plans for her first clothing line.

The I'm Goin' Down hitmaker announced she is in the early phases of creating her own clothing brand as she chatted to reporters at a Giorgio Armani fashion show in China on Thursday (31May12).

The singer told Women's Wear Daily she will begin her range by designing shoes and boots, and later aims to release "great-fitting jeans".

Blige previously showed off her sartorial sense when she collaborated on a collection of charity T-shirts with French designer Catherine Malandrino.

She also has a perfume line and a range of her own sunglasses called Melodies by MJB.
