The meat dress LADY GAGA wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards had already started to rot when celebrated California taxidermist SERGIO VIGILATO started the process of preserving it for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Burbank-based animal stuffing expert was asked to rejuvenate the frozen Argentinian beef gown months after Gaga had stunned the world with her fleshy fashion statement, and he reveals the outfit was stinking up his workshop as he defrosted it.

He tells the Los Angeles Times, "The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame had already paid me upfront - $6,000 - so I went ahead with it (process)."

Vigilato, a one-time rock star in Brazil, explains it took him a month to clean, cure and preserve the gown so that it could be displayed at the Cleveland, Ohio museum.
