Kait can be seen weekday mornings on NewsChannel 5 and on our partner station, Fox 29.

Kait Parker came in NewChannel 5 in December of 2010 as Weekend Morning Meteorologist. After her first year here in Florida, she was promoted to weekday mornings, working alongside Glenn Glazer from 4:30-7 a.m. and as the primary meteorologist for Fox 29 News from 7-9 a.m. While at NewsChannel 5, Kait earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society.

Kait comes to NewsChannel 5 from Montgomery, Alabama where she was the weekday morning meteorologist. There, she single-handedly kept viewers safe and informed during everything from tornadoes to ice and even a hurricane. While in Montgomery, Kait also coordinated all the community events for the station that helped benefit local charities and non-profits. Kait also spent a great deal of time volunteering at the Montgomery Humane Society where she found a best friend in Bruce, a large and lovable mutt. Needless to say, “Bruce” is now a part of Kait’s family and is loving the beaches of Florida!

While studying at the University of Missouri, Kait worked at the local NBC affiliate, provided weather for local radio stations, taught a class on Storm Chasing to University students, was a member of the Mizzou Storm Chase Team and Treasurer of the Meteorology Club. She also spent time learning from some of the best in the business at WFAA-TV in Dallas, TX.

Kait is thrilled to be in South Florida, where the weather presents a constant challenge and the beach provides a great escape. When Kait isn’t at NewsChannel 5, she loves spending time at the dog beach with “Bruce," reading a good book and creating fabulous new dishes in the kitchen.
