Miriam Frederick spends most of her time in Haiti, especially after the country was hit hard by an earthquake six months ago. She says thousands have been left without homes and are in need of medical attention.

Miriam said, "I can tell you after 34 years of working in Haiti and seeing death and dying and burying so many children and seeing hunger and starvation at its very worst. I have never seen the depths of suffering that I am seeing in Haiti today. The sad part is that it's not in the front of the media now and they are suffering the worst devastation."

Miriam, who founded World Harvest Missions more than three decades ago, says many are living in tent cities. Her organization is also trying to provide a place for many of the people who are now amputees because of the earthquake.

"We are gathering people from all over city through the tent cities and every Wednesday we have at least 50 coming where we connect with prosthesis companies and we measure them, we fit them with prosthesis and we also supply them with a tent and tarps. We need food, we need tarps and we need tents terribly for those people, we need money. People are desperate, they are dropping off their kids with notes on our door saying I have nothing to feed them they are going to die, what am I going to do they are going to die, please help us."

She hopes people will step forward and help. "It's happening right now in such serious devastation that we can't let go of Haiti, we've got to remember Haiti."
