West Palm Beach - Jaclyn Merens is on a quest to help as many families as possible who have a loved one with autism. According to the organization, Autism Speaks, one in every 110 children is diagnosed with autism. "On the research side we fund the best science minds around and have been able to bring scientists from around the world together collaborately to work together which is not something that scientists do it is a very competitive research field."

One of the organizations that helps Autism Speaks with fundraising is the Woodstock Foundation Palm Beach Chapter. Richard Jankus says Woodstock provides financial support to organizations which help children and the elderly. "It's amazing and we have gotten this question a lot why wouldn't someone go directly to Autism Speaks and they do. But we are in addition of so it's amazing when I wear this puzzle piece and someone says what is that that's the connection, it's saying the Woodstock Foundation helps the elderly and children have you heard of autism."

Jankus says the Woodstock Foundation helps organize events to help half a dozen local organizations. "And this was around the walk, March, April I heard Jackie speak and I was literally moved. And I ran up the flag pole with the foundation and asked if this is an organization that we can help and they did their due diligence and of course as a national charity in their local efforts and that's what happened."
