It's a day of playing tag at The Salvation Army Northwest Community Center in West Palm Beach. The kids are able to attend summer camp due to the Salvation Army's generosity. Tara Bennett with the Salvation Army of Palm Beach County said, "During the summer we send over 200 kids to a local Salvation Army summer camp here in Palm Beach County. We also have a state summer camp where there are kids that are selected between 100 and 150 each year to go to our state camp for a week and experience horseback riding, swimming, fellowship with other kids throughout the state of Florida."

Teens also have the option of playing on the basketball team. "We have a traveling basketball team an AAU basketball team that travels around and plays in that league. It's a service that we provide here locally in the West Palm Beach area to those youth that want to experience fellowship with their team mates, learn about sportsmanship, get out there and see that state."

The Salvation Army's mission in helping families, is to provide for all of their needs for children and adults. "It's always important that if you want to make sure kids are in summer camp and off the streets, they have that safe place to go that your neighbors helped out with food in their cupboards and keeping the lights on that's what the Salvation Army is here for." With all of the services that The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County offers, volunteers are always needed.
