Pahokee may have to forfeit district victory

PAHOKEE, FL--Pahokee's football team is used to winning on the field.  However this time they may have lost a game because of the classroom.  The football team has reported violations to the FHSAA for using an ineligible player during the team's 41-0 victory over Cardinal Newman on September 25th.  If the FHSAA forces Pahokee to forfeit the game, the win would become a loss and drop the Blue Devils to 4-1 in District 7-2B.  They would then face elimination if they lose to University on Friday and Coconut Creek North Broward Prep wins its game, also on Friday.

The team says the player in question is no longer on the team, and was apparently carrying a 1.8 GPA when it is required all student athletes at the school must have a 2.0 GPA.

Pahokee can still win the district if they defeat University this week as well.  The Blue Devils have won three straight Class 2B state championships and five in the past six years.
