DAVIE, FL - Former New York Yankees slugger Jim Leyritz has been arrested on charges of domestic battery against his ex-wife, police say.
Police arrived at his Davie home after hearing reports that he allegedly battered Karrie Leyrtiz, police spokesman Sgt. Greg Gasse said this morning.
No other details were available.
Leyritz is awaiting trial on DUI manslaughter charges from a fatal December 2007 crash.
He is accused of being legally drunk when he failed to heed a red light and collided with a car driven by Fredia Veitch, 30, in downtown Fort Lauderdale, killing the woman.
