BOCA RATON, FL--He's the arguably the best player in the school's history. However, the FAU Owls football team may have to debate without star quarterback Rusty Smith this Saturday when the team faces UAB on the road. Smith was injured in Saturday's game vs Middle Tennessee State after injuring his non-throwing shoulder even though during the contest he surpassed 10,000 yards.
Jeff Van Camp will start in Smith's place who was re-examined on Monday but will be fully diagnosed on Tuesday. The Owls had just started to click on offense winning their last two games before falling to MTSU dropping their record to 2-5. Smith has started 36 straight games.
