NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA -- Three Frenchwomen are preparing to cross the Atlantic using paddleboards. They have been training for six months with an intense exercise routine. The more than 2800 mile trek will go from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Capbrenton, France.

The long trip should last around two months, with each woman paddling for two hours, four times a day at a pace of about 60 miles per day.

Stephanie Geyer-Barneix, 34, Alexandra Lux, 23, and Flora Manciet, 25 are excited to accomplish something nobody has ever done before.

One of the paddlers, Ms. Geyer-Barneix, came up with the idea after she recovered from breast cancer several years ago.

Her friends thought she was crazy, but eventually joined her in the crazy adventure.

The women will have a GPS tracking device on their board transmitting thier location every 10 minutes to Google Earth.

There will be a 60 foot catamaran following them but the dangers will be lurking for all: Atlantic storms, squalls, fog, frigid water temps, not to mention the sharks and other hungry marine creatures.

The trio plans on leaving June 22nd.
