WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- Setting up, or addressing the ball, is the key to establishing a good golf swing.

The first step is to figure out where you want the ball to go. In other words, aim.

Stand behind the ball and visualize an imaginary line between where the ball is and where you want it to go. With that line firmly in mind, position yourself at the ball.

Your feet should be parallel to the imaginary line, pointed straight ahead, and shoulder-width apart.

Now spread your leading foot about 30 degrees toward the target spot.

Stand up straight and hold your club out, then lower it until it's about an inch off the ground.

Finally, bend your knees until the club head touches the ground. At this point, you should feel completely balanced. Your weight is on the balls of your feet and you're ready to go.
