RIVIERA BEACH, FL.- July 31, 2009 - As part of a nationwide observance, NEW PORT COVE MARINE CENTER is celebrating the seventh annual National Marina Day on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 12pm-4pm, 255 E. 22nd Court
"National Marina Day is an annual celebration of the important role marinas play in waterfront communities all across America," said Bruce Grout, General Manager. "Each day, this country's marinas serve as safe, family-friendly gateways to boating and as stewards of the environment. We hope you will visit New Port Cove to learn about your communities' marina, and enjoy the events we have planned."
National Marina Day activities include:
*Public tour of the facility to see first hand the crucial role our marina plays in providing public access to and for the enjoyment of our local waters, Green initiatives, Manatee Awareness and more.
*The opportunity to speak with U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary officials who will offer boating safety literature, such as Federal and State Regulations, regulated zones in the Lake Worth Lagoon, and information on boating safety programs.
*Youngsters and Teens 10-18 years of age can learn about the opportunity to get involved with the Sea Cadet Program - vessel on-site.
*Free Safety Vessel Inspections by Palm Beach Sail & Power Squadron, plus information on Safe Boating Education classes.
*Free Hot Dogs, Soft Drinks and Popcorn.
*Free Safety Whistle to the first 100 attendees!

National Marina Day is celebrated in conjunction with the Association of Marina Industries, the national trade association of the marina industry.
New Port Cove Marine Center is located on the waterfront in Riviera Beach and has been awarded the Clean Marina designation by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Location is everything and boaters enjoy the convenience of this facility which is just west of the weekend hotspots, Peanut Island and Lake Worth Inlet. The marina features State-of-the-Art dry storage for vessels to 40 feet, in water vessel dockage, plus Jet Ski and Wave Runner storage. Dry storage vessels are transported by custom built Wiggins Marina Bull Fork-Lifts. Services include In-House certified outboard/inboard gas and diesel mechanic, a fully stocked marine store, clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Open 7 Days per week.
