Last Update: 2/08 10:37 pm
A FAR SMALLER FISH IS MAKING A NAME AND A HOME FOR ITSELF IN SOUTH FLORIDA THAT IS NOT A GOOD THING! THE LIONFISH, A BEAUTIFUL BUT VENOMOUS INVASIVE SPECIES, IS SPREADING THROUGH THE AREA. THE SPECIES, WHICH HAS BEEN SPOTTED OFF PALM BEACH COUNTY IN THE PAST, HAS SLOWLY STARTED SPREADING THROUGHOUT THE FLORIDA KEYS. IN ALL, MORE THAN 80 LIONFISH HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED OVER THE LAST YEAR. THE AGGRESSIVE FISH CAN QUICKLY UPSET THE BALANCE AMONG NATIVE SPECIES.
