Divers are always trying to find ways to attract new divers to the sport but one man has found a unique way.
He travels around the country each year promoting diving with a large incentive that's hard to miss.
This is one sport where a book can help you learn but you pretty much have to suit up and sink in to find out what its likes.
One diver with thousands of logged dives around the world is trying to pass his passion along to others with the help of a pool.
Talk about a hands on lesson in diving. Forget pictures, forget books.
"This is very first time trying scuba diving."
Singing in here means strapping on dive gear. And taking a plunge.
"My whole family are scuba divers need to get it done."
This is no ordinary exhibit at the South Florida Travel Expo Show.
Diving equipment and marketing associations scuba tour pool is on display.
"Key on diving is breath nice and slow."
Its a 16 thousand gallon heated pool traveling to 30 cities each year giving people the chance to test their skills underwater.
"Yes you can take your kid to the aquarium but why can't you be a part of the aquarium that's what we're trying to do here."
Its a marketing effort to get more people dive certified and its working.
12 thousand dove the pool last year year and with each new diver sinking in, that's one more person jumping into a new sport.
"How was it it was great."
Just like that the dive industry has a few more certifications coming in the near future. All due to the effort of a few passionate divers and one big pool.
"You get em underwater for a little bit all of a sudden light comes on you can just see em they know they can be a diver know they can be a diver its so satisfying to me its the perfect experience."
