BOCA RATON, FL - It's official. The Miss Lourdies became South Florida's newest artificial reef Saturday, June 6th at 12:09 pm. It took all of 9 minutes for her to fully submerge.

The ship landed upright with the bow pointing to the south. The top of the wheel house is at 101 feet, the aft deck is 125 feet and the bottom is 140 feet.

"You don't realize the value that these things have, it's kinda exciting," says Joe Marino.

Marino was present and captured some incredible shots from his vantage point up in a cessna. He mounted a camera to the ship then flew over for some aerial shots and finally dived the wreck an hour later.
