Many restaurants today offer low calorie and low fat entrees on their menus to help you make healthier choices. Most of the time, those menu items list out their promised nutritional values beside the entrée.
We tested the ‘low fat, low calorie’ menu options from some of the restaurants where you dine and learned that you may be getting a lot more than you ordered.
In eight cities across the country, Contact 5 and our sister stations bought items off the low fat/low calorie menus from many popular restaurants and sent them off to a lab to test whether the fat and calorie content match what was published on the menu.
