Biography:
Willard Mitt Romney was elected Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2002.  He served one term and did not seek re-election in 2006.

Romney is a former CEO of the management consulting firm Bain & Company.  He co-founded Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm.  Before working at Bain, Romney worked for the Boston Consulting Group.  He was president and CEO of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games held in Salt Lake City.

In 1994 Romney ran as the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, but lost to Senator Ted Kennedy.

Romney and his wife Ann have five sons and 10 grandchildren.
