WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- A Florida lab worker who mixed a deadly concoction of supplements that killed 21 polo horses earlier this year claims the pharmacy fired her for speaking with investigators.
That's in a whistleblower complaint filed in July against Franck's Pharmacy in Ocala.
Sheila Harris claims she cooperated with the Food and Drug Administration in the weeks following the horses' deaths on April 19, and that her employer then fired her for talking about it.
Franck's denied the allegations in a statement to The Associated Press on Friday. The business says it has encouraged employees to cooperate with investigators.
The horses died April 19 after being given the supplement prepared by Franck's. The pharmacy later acknowledged the brew was mixed incorrectly.
