BOSTON, MA - The Miami Dolphins will be missing two of its starting defenders for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
According to a team spokesperson, inside linebacker Channing Crowder and nose tackle Jason Ferguson will not play against the Patriots because of the injuries they've been nursing.
Crowder is rehabbing a shoulder injury he suffered against the Saints. He missed last Sunday's game against the Jets, and was replaced by Reggie Torbor, who contributed six tackles in his second start as a Dolphin.
Ferguson suffered an elbow injury against the Jets and has had his practice participation limited all week. It's likely that Paul Soliai will fill the void his absence creates.
To help the defense compensate for their absence linebacker J.D. Folsom, the team's 2009 seventh-round draft pick, was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.
To make room for Folsom the Dolphins released linebacker William Kershaw, who was signed just last week.
