KENDALL, FL--Friends and neighbors of 33 year old twins Carla Merhige and Lisa Kinght still can't believe what happened to the sisters.

"It's just tragic, tragic I mean we're just stunned," said Dee Zwelling.

As news spread of the twins' murders their Facebook pages were flooded with messages from friends.

Carla's last message to friends was left at 11:15 Thursday morning. She wrote that she had lost her cell phone and wanted her friends to send their phone numbers. She also wished them "Happy Turkey Day."

Employees who worked with Carla say she was the best boss ever, and will never be forgotten.

Neighbors say the family did the best they could to help suspect Paul Michael Merhige. They say he was a troubled child and in and out of mental institutions, but lately appeared to be getting better.

"And they worked very hard with him to get him stable," said one neighbor.

Others say they are devastated for both the victims' family as well as the suspect's family.

"They were always nice neighbors...they were very good neighbors, they were great," added Joel Zwelling.
