BOCA RATON, FL, -- Three people that were attacked by a fox in two parks in Boca Raton are now undergoing shots for rabies.

Thursday morning at South Beach Park in Boca Raton, Stephen Guleff told police that he was bitten on the leg while walking along the boardwalk.

Boca Raton Police said that about 10 minutes later at nearby Red Reef Park, Michael Noell and his wife Danie were also attacked by a fox.

Michael was able to find a pipe and beat the animal to death.

Guleff told our news partners at the Sun-Sentinel he was in good spirits on Friday even after learning the gray fox that bit him a day earlier was indeed rabid according to the Florida State Laboratory in Lantana.

"I'm actually grateful that it happened to me and not a little child," Guleff told the paper.
