WEST PALM BEACH, FL--State health officials say 59 people have died from swine flu in Florida. Among them, a 12 year old girl from Palm Beach County.

The Palm Beach County Health Department said the young influenza victim died in rural western Nevada. According to Martha Framsted of Nevada Department Of Health, the child had underlying medical conditions.

This brings the total of swine flu deaths in Palm Beach County to five now.

Federal health officials have sent testing supplies to the state's four labs, allowing state technicians to test samples without the additional step of sending them to the Centers for Disease Control.

Health officials are urging Floridians to seek medical help if they feel sick, to wash hands frequently, practice good hygiene and to stay home if they feel ill.
