PORT ST. LUCIE, FL-- A 14-year old is hit by a car while walking to his bus stop last month wants the driver to come forward.

Jon Szafran, a freshman at Saint Lucie West Centennial High, is still recovering from his injuries.

He was walking to his bus stop on Port St. Lucie Boulevard when police say a car ran over him.

He spent a month recovering at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Szafran is  home and  is still battling hip, pelvic bone and back pain.

He has to hobble around with a walker.

Szafran says there's no question the driver knew what he hit. "It stopped.  The guy came out, he came over to me and said something.  Then he got back in and drove off."

Port St. Lucie Police are still looking for leads.

Call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-TIPS in you any information.
