FORT PIERCE, FL--Fort Pierce Police have arrested a man who matches the description of a suspect known to investigators as the 'red striped bandit.'

Police say they believe the arrest will bring an end to a crime spree that began two years ago involving six armed robberies around the city. A man wearing a dark long-sleeved jacket with two red stripes was seen in surveillance video in many of the robberies.

Officers arrested 26-year-old Cedrick Terrell Beckwith at his home Monday shortly after a robbery at Ramallah Food Mart on Orange Avenue.

Police believe Beckwith is responsible for the Ramallah Food Mart robbery, three other armed robberies and two attempted robberies since 2007.

He was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail without incident. He faces a $250,000 bond.
