JUPITER, FL -- Jim Sitton steps inside his little girl's room.
Makayla's room.
There is the mural Mom and Dad had painted before she even was born.
The Bible by her bedside and the book she was writing.
'Makayla's Book' tells many tales, but for Dad, her room holds so many more.
"I mean there's a thousand stories in here and every one of them are comforting," says Sitton.
Like Makayla's Thanksgiving dinner program.
"She created a rundown of the program," says Sitton.
The program was complete with the Psalm she recited to the Thanksgiving group and the songs she sang and played on the piano at the same time.
"The song 'Over the River and Through the Woods'... but it wasn't a Thanksgiving song so she rewrote, she said 'Papa, I rewrote the words so that it made sense for Thanksgiving because it's not a Thanksgiving song.' She changed a couple words from pot pie to pilgrim," says Sitton.
Sitton says Makayla's presentation was beautiful.
One this veteran photographer didn't record.
"I thought I would, but I didn't and I just enjoyed the night," says Sitton.
A family member snapped a photo of Maykala on Thanksgiving Day.
Her last day.
Over these past few days, her father has shown such strength.
"Half of it's adrenaline and shock and grace," says Sitton.
Ask Sitton how best to describe Makayla to those who did not have the chance to meet her and at first, it is hard for this dad to find the words.
Give him a moment, and he will just show you.
"I found this one today," says Sitton as he pulls one of Makayla's handmade Thanksgiving cards down from the wall.
"I think this is the right one. It says 'Thank you God' and then what is she thankful for? It says 'Tick tock tick tock, for.. time with my family," reads Sitton.
Like father, like daughter.
"I, too, thank God for her time with my family. He blessed me with six, almost seven years of just, honoring me, allowing me to be her father and I miss her so much," says Sitton.
Law enforcement officers are hoping to get the tip that leads them to the suspected killer of Makayla and three other relatives Thanksgiving night.
A $10,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest of Paul Michael Merhige.
Merhige was one of the Sitton's Thanksgiving dinner guests and he has not been seen since he opened fire killing his twin sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight, Makayla, and the youngster's grandmother, Raymonde Joseph.
Merhige was last seen driving a royal blue four-door 2007 Toyota Camry with a spoiler on the back and no window tint.
The car has factory wheels.
The Florida license plate is W42-7JT.
If you have any information, Jupiter Police are asking you to call them at 561-746-6201.
