Palm Beach County has 9th H1N1 death

WEST PALM BEACH, FL. -- A 70 year old man who was hospitalized with an underlying illness has has died.

The Palm Beach County Health Department says the death was the county's 9th attributed to the H1N1 flu virus.

Health officals say that thus far 81 people in Palm Beach County have been hospitalized with this flu and 35 have been admitted to the ICU.

The Health Department recommends the following precautions:


  • Avoid close contact with people who are coughing or otherwise appear ill.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes
  • Wash hands frequently to lessen the spread of respiratory illness.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Get Vaccinated.
