SINGER ISLAND, FL--The sign in the lobby of Connemara's lobby says it all "no heat."

"Well it's not pleasant," said one tenant.

Ralph Bloch and his family are originally from New York but say even these temperatures are enough for them to layer up.

"They say you can put the heat back on when the temperature rises above 50," he said.

Residents like Scott Pausteck from Chicago say inside the temperature is bearable but still not warm enough so now they are on the hunt for heat.

"Right now we're going to get space heaters," Pausteck says.

But some stores say that may be wishful thinking.

Target manager Angela Caraballo says space heaters have been flying off the shelves like a popular holiday toy. They sold their last space heater last night and now customers like Michael Greenberg are being turned away not just at Target but almost everywhere.

"Home Depot sold out, Sears sold out and just came here to target and they are sold out also," he said.

The stores say they expect a shipment Wednesday but there is no guarantee space heaters will be on the truck. As for those living at the Connemara they say they'll just have to add layers.
