DELRAY BEACH, FL --A Delray Beach man faces manslaughter charges in connection with the shooting death of his cousin.
According to police, 17 year old James Williams was shot at a home on SW 2nd Street near SW 14th Avenue Monday night.
20 year old David Duritsa told investigators he wanted to pose for a picture with what he though was an unloaded gun.
Williams' younger brother says James and Duritsa were handling the gun inside the house and that his cousin had removed the clip. But apparently there was still a bullet in the chamber and the gun went off. He says Williams was struck in the neck.
"It was an accident. He didn't do it intentionally," said a distraught DeCarla Balam, Williams' mother. "It was an accident - but my son is gone."
Duritsa faced a Palm Beach County judge Tuesday morning on charges of aggravated manslaughter. His bond was set at $50,000.
