DELRAY BEACH, FL--Detectives say a potential murderer is now off the streets.
A multi-agency investigation has resulted in the arrest of a suburban Boynton Beach man whom they say severely beat a number of prostitutes, until they were almost dead in some cases.
Police say 28-year-old Dane White targeted prostitutes and beat them in both Palm Beach and Broward Counties. He is accused of beating at least 13 victims but they believe there could be more.
Some of the beatings were so severe, all of the women's facial bones were broken.
White appeared before a Palm Beach County judge this morning on one of the assault charges.
Detectives say he would not focus on one main area. He would pick up girls in Lake Worth and Boynton Beach and dump them in Delray Beach.
Detectives say they had a hard time catching him because he would use different cars, including a Honda owned by his girlfriend and his Acura.
They say he brought one of his victim's back to his house and she was able to identify it.
The attacks date back to October of last year.
"He was currently going through a separation with his girlfriend.. and he loved her truly, he couldn't harm her so to take out his frustration and anger he vented it on other people," said Delray Beach Detective Gene Spano.
White's bond was set at $250,000 dollars and more charges of sexual battery and aggravated battery are expected to be filed later today.
If he makes bail he will be under house arrest.
