Struck motorcyclist in critical condition

BOYNTON BEACH, FL -- A motorcyclist remains in critical condition after an SUV struck him Monday night in Boynton Beach.

The accident happened in the 2300 block of North Congress Avenue between Gateway Blvd and Miner Road just before 10:30 p.m.

Police say Shane Workman of Boynton Beach was heading southbound on North Congress Avenue when an SUV made a U-turn into his path and struck him.

Workman was thrown from the motorcycle according to police, and transported to Delray Medical Center.
 
Police say the SUV’s driver, Michael Frank, of Lighthouse Point, fled the scene but was later stopped.

Charges are pending.
