BOYNTON BEACH, FL-- 79-year-old Anne Tarlow was hunting around in the seafood section Monday around 4:40 p.m. when, out of nowhere, a young female snatched her purse right from her cart.

The crime happened at the Publix on S.W. 18th Avenue and Woolbright Road in Boynton Beach.

The victim lost her wallet, filled with credit cards, cash, and id’s.  Her cell phone is also gone.

Stephanie Slater with the Boynton Beach police department says the only good news is that the criminal couldn't have picked a more perfect spot to be seen.

"It shows just how fast this happens," Slater said.  "We can see exactly who this person is down to what kind of shoes she's wearing."

The suspect is said to be in her late 20’s or early 30’s. She has long brown hair and was wearing jeans and flip flops.

Some shoppers say people are too trusting.

"Many times I see women with their purses left in their carts and they're out looking," said shopper Nancy Conti.  "I've told them to watch out."

Police say women should always have a hand or an eye on their purse at all times. "It takes seconds," Slater said.

If you have information about the case you are asked to call Det. Jason Llopis at 561-742-6144, Det. Frank Razie at 561-742-6132 or Crime Stoppers of PBC at 800-458-TIPS.
