BOCA RATON, FL -- Hundreds of people sat inside the Mizner Amphitheater, paying close attention to the presentation, but outside, it was a different story. A large group of protesters gathered just steps away from where former Vice President Al Gore was speaking.
"If you follow the money, it tells you all you need to know about Al Gore he is making millions off all this energy stuff he is selling," said Meg Shannon, with the South Florida Tea Party.
They made lots of noise and held up some very creative signs, showing their disapproval for Gore's views on global climate change.
"Give me a break, can we cause global warming? I don't think so," said Shannon.
Gore's "Going Green" lecture was similar to his documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth."
He also talked about his new book titled "Our Choice," outlining ways to deal with the climate crisis.
"I really wish they would just spend some time reading and understanding what we are really talking about," said Nicole Smith with Mission Green.
All ticket proceeds for the presentation will go to the nonprofit Alliance for Climate Protection, which Gore chairs.
