OKEECHOBEE, FL--The Okeechobee County Health Department is reporting its first suspected death from the swine flu.

The health department says the victim was a 47-year-old female resident.

"It will take a few more days to determine if the H1N1 virus was the cause or if it was something else," said Frank Kruppa, Administrator of the Okeechobee County Health Department, in a written release.

The county is urging residents to continue taking proper precautions to prevent getting or spreading the flu virus.
