I have gone on several trips with the Volunteers in Mission with the United Methodist church and each conference has a coordinator that all groups are to contact as they are planning. Unfortunately most groups do not do this and most of the groups that have had problems have been those who did not follow the rules and contact the conference coordinator. Also most all groups with adults that are to be contact wiht children must have Safe Sanctuaries training.

Although I understand rules are rules, don't you think a little rule bending would have been in order? I mean they were there to do missionary work and do something constructive for others without being paid, I presume. Why break these kids hearts?
