STUART, FL  — A Port St. Lucie man was hospitalized after he was struck by an intoxicated driver, police said.

David Gorie, 24, of the 3200 block of West Snow Road, was riding his bicycle through the intersection of Kanner Highway and Indian Grove Drive at 8:40 p.m. Monday. He was struck by Brian Norton, 46, of the 600 block of Northwest Sunset Drive in Stuart, police said.

The officer determined Gorie had the right-of-way at the intersection and Norton had been driving while under the influence, police said. Norton was charged in the crash and Gorie was taken to a local hospital.
