MARTIN COUNTY — A pedestrian died after being hit by a dump truck before 8 a.m. Thursday along an access road at Agri-Gator, Incorporated, in Martin County
The Florida Highway Patrol says the dump truck was stationary and William Frank Arnold, 57, of Palm Beach Gardens was underneath the vehicle. He was attempting to remove a metal chain.
A driver, identified as Waldermoore Stephens, 59, of Loxahatchee, did not realize Arnold was under the truck and rolled forward, according to the FHP.
Arnold died at the scene.
