Hobe Sound Wildlife Refuge turns 30

HOBE SOUND, FL -- Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge celebrated a big anniversary.

The refuge, located on U.S. Federal Highway 1, two miles south of Bridge Road, celebrated its 30th birthday on Thursday September 30.  

It was established on September 30, 1969.  According to the 
Hobe Sound's NWR website it consist of two sections totaling more than 1000 acres.


The refuge is well known for its sea turtle nesting habitat.
