INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL -- The U.S. Marshal’s Office apprehended a convicted felon wanted for pistol-whipping and striking his girlfriend with a vodka bottle, according to his affidavits.
Willie Lee Hicks, 26, of the 4200 block of 28th Avenue, Vero Beach, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Indian River County Jail.
The woman told the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office about the assault, which happened in the driveway of his home on Oct. 27.
The two were arguing after Hicks accused the woman of having sex with her father, according to the affidavit. Hicks yanked her out of her car and attacked her, the affidavit said.
Witnesses twice had to pull Hicks away from the woman, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The U.S. Marshal’s Office apprehended Hicks Wednesday in the 4700 block of 29th Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office contacted the federal agency for manpower, Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Jeff Luther said.
