VERO BEACH, FL -- The largest private school on the Treasure Coast is undergoing some changes in an effort to consolidate resources.

St. Edwards School is closing and selling its  Riomar pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade campus, according to our news partners at Scripps Treasure Coast newspapers. Officials plan to move students who attend the Lower School to St. Edward's newer and larger south barrier island Upper School campus.

School administrators say that the five-year plan aims to grow enrollment of tuition paying students and less financial aid. Officials say August 2010 would be the earliest the Lower School would close its doors.
