INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man wanted for lewd and lascivious molestation by local authorities was caught in Ohio and will be extradited, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said.
David Gabbert, 49, is accused of fondling a 6-year-old girl last month, the Sheriff’s Office said. The girl’s parents notified investigators after the Jan. 10 incident, according to the warrant affidavit. Gabbert stated he to touched the girl’s crotch area in a Jan. 25 interview with detectives, his affidavit states.
The U.S. Marshal’s Service apprehended Gabbert in Ohio, the Sheriff’s Office said.
