Plea deal for mom who left baby in hot car

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FL-- A Sebastian woman charged with manslaughter after leaving her infant son in a hot car for more than eight hours agreed to a plea deal Friday morning.
 
Stephanie Ann Salvilla Werking agreed to plead “no contest” to a 3rd degree felony charge of leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle causing great bodily harm.  The state is dismissing the felony charge of aggravated Manslaughter of a child.
 
She will receive 5 years probation.

Werking told police that on July 24th she drove to work in Vero Beach and forgot to stop at a day care center to drop off her six-month old son, Gannon Werking. She found his dead body when she returned to her car at the end of her work day.
