BELLE GLADE, FL. -- If it's Thanksgiving, then it's time for the annual Big O hike.

The 18th annual 109 mile hike around Lake Okeechobee starts Saturday morning at 8am at the Pahokee Marina.

The trek around the Lake began in 1991 and is hosted by the Loxahatchee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association.

The hike starts on November 21 and continues through Sunday November 29th.

Hikers average 9 to 15 miles a day making stops around the Lake at night.

On Saturday there are also  'wimp walks' ranging from 3.5 miles to 8.5 miles for people who don't want to make the whole 9 day tour.
