PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL--- The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has honored several members of the community for making a difference in South Florida.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw handed out 'Samaritan Awards' to deserving individuals.

Chopper 5 pilot Captain Julie and photographer Johann Hoffend were among the recipients.

They were singled out for helping to find two men who were stranded on Lake Okeechobee after the airboat overturned in August.

Captain Julie and Johann were the first to spot the pair and guided rescuers to them.
