WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness is hosting a fashion show. Proceeds from the show will help the organization continue its mission of helping teens and college students struggling with eating disorders.

Founder Johanna Kandel knows first hand the struggles people endure with eating disorders. The young dancer developed eating disorders and ended up in the hospital. She battled the problem for ten years. She wanted to give back to the community and help others deal with the issue. She founded the organization nine years ago. Now she spends her time, day and night, visiting schools speaking to students of various ages. She also does lectures for college students.

Because she wants the mission to continue, even in these tough economic times, she hopes many people will come out and financially support her "Escape to Reality" fashion show. The fashion show will includes outfits from Eileen Fisher, Bettie Page Clothing, TJ Maxx and Bonobos. One of the models will be NewsChannel Five meteorologist Steve Weagle.
