WEST PALM BEACH, FL— 241 post offices around the country remain on a list that calls for consolidation or closure. That includes post offices in West Palm Beach, and Boca Raton.
The Lantana branch, which was on the list, has been removed and is safe from closure.
“During the study, postal officials considered customer access, service standards, cost savings, impact on employees, environmental impact, real estate values, and long-term Postal Service needs. It was determined that it was in the best interest of the Postal Service and its customers that the Lantana Post Office remain open. We appreciate our customers and our employees look forward to continue providing outstanding service to customers in Lantana and surrounding communities,” said Debra Fetterly, USPS Spokesperson for the South Florida District.
The United states Postal Services says it has nearly 37,000 post offices, stations, branches, contract and community post offices in the nation.
As a result, it claims closing or consolidating some would be a good business move.
