LAKE WORTH, FL -- The city of Lake Worth is working to limit noise in the downtown area.

To reduce noise levels, deputies will start measuring noise with decible readings.

The readings will be used for a report to draft a noise ordinance for the city.

Prolonged exposure to sounds at or above 85 decibels can cause gradual hearing loss.

A walking test Saturday night showed decible readings coming from some bars at '99' or higher.
