Jefferson Awards Information

The Jefferson Awards are a prestigious, national recognition program honoring community & public service.

Today, their primary purpose is to serve as a Call to Action for Volunteers in local communities.

WPTV selected five local Jefferson Award winners during the month of February, based on your nominations.

One local winner, Johanna Kandel, was selected to attend the Gala Dinner and National Ceremony in Washington D.C.

NewsChannel 5 Anchor, Tania Rogers profiled each Jefferson Award winner on a NewsChannel 5 newscast.
